Special mention
Thomas Boivin

“People who don't know each other. It's this trust that photography keeps, it's this trust that is then offered to the reader, and it's in this sense that its social significance is strongest for me.

Even today, beyond all the concerns we may have for our common future, seeing that it's possible to meet a stranger and take a portrait as freely and intuitively as I do is always a moment of grace for me, and a promise of hope.”

Thomas Boivin was born in 1983.  He lives and works in Paris.

2015

Special mention
Bertrand Stofleth
Rhodanie

Rhodanie is a photographic series on riverside landscapes, depicting the different ways in which these territories are inhabited and developed. Between 2007 and 2014, Bertrand Stofleth travelled more than 850 km along the Rhône River, from its source on the glacier in Switzerland to its mouths in the Mediterranean Sea. He paid particular attention to revealing the identity of the riverbank, methodically following the course of the river and its surroundings. He constructs a dialogue between the river landscape and the frontier space that borders it. He highlights the forms of occupation and development.

Born in 1978, Bertrand Stofleth lives and works in Lyon.

2014

Special mention
Nigel Bennet

Born in the United States in 1975, and a graduate of Madrid's Escuela de Fotografia y Centro de Imagen, Nigel Bennet aims to breathe new life into the documentary genre. By multiplying obstacles, using the camera and thus stretching the shooting time, Nigel Bennet hopes to capture more than just his own point of view. In his own way, he reinvents the “exquisite corpse”, multiplying subjectivities to broaden the field of vision. Nigel Bennet is represented by Christinger de Mayo Gallery, Zurich.

Réflexion

Born in France in 1974 and a graduate of the CFT Les Gobelins School of Image, Muriel Vega is as interested in reality as she is in its distortion. The “Réflexion” series is created in such a way as to create a certain confusion, with the aim of questioning the relationship between image and imagination, visible and invisible, real and appearances.
